Software Product Management (SPM) excellence is a key success factor in industries delivering software intensive products or packaged software, and in companies offering services based on software and IT.
The International Software Product Management Association (ISPMA) is an open group of experts from industry and research with the goal to foster software product management excellence across industries.
ISPMA establishes software product management as a discipline in both academia and industry, and disseminates and maintains a Curriculum and a Certifiable Body of Knowledge (SPMBOK).

- September 18-19, 2013: ISPMA partnered with the Product Management Festival.
- June 11-14, 2013: ISPMA partnered with the ICSOB conference.
- April 8, 2013: Birgit Penzenstadler, Mahvish Khurum, and Kai Petersen have been awarded the ISPMA best paper award at the IWSPM workshop.
- April 7, 2013: Dr. Krzysztof Wnuk is elected extended board member, responsible for syllabus development.
- April 7, 2013: Yearly ISPMA membmer assembly held in Essen, Germany.
